Description:

The CNC Machine Operating Program is a 300-hour occupational skills training that prepares unemployed and underemployed community members for entry level
employment as CNC Machine Operators.
1. Participants will learn, apply, and demonstrate best practices for safe operation of manual and CNC machines. They will be able to use industrial geometry to perform
accurate work, and learn basic metrology to be able to inspect parts.
2. Participants will be able to read basic blueprints as required by machine shop personnel.
3. Participants will learn how to navigate online learning through Google Classroom and Tooling U, as well as learn how to use the internet to job search.
4. Participants will have the opportunity to obtain the OSHA 10 General Industry Certificate and the MACWIC Basic Manufacturing Skills Certificate.
5. Participants will develop job-seeking skills and will have created a polished resume by the end of class.
6. Participants will be exposed to Master CAM to beginning learning how CAD and CAM create CNC programs.

Program Start: June 26, 2023 - August 23, 2023
8 AM - 2:30 PM Monday - Friday, (Fourth of July Week is a 3-day week, and 4-hours online ToolingU homework assigned weekly)

The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) facilitates the placement of students and recent graduates interested in life sciences career opportunities in paid internships across the state throughout the year. Consistent with the MLSC’s role as a catalyst in growing the talent needed by the life sciences industry, the Internship Challenge is designed to create hundreds of new internship opportunities each year by enabling small businesses to hire paid interns. The MLSC reimburses eligible companies for intern stipends.

We have a robust summer internship program that focuses on the development and growth of each intern. Our internships are typically 10-12 weeks in length with the opportunity to extend further.
