State Resources for Funding Employee Training

Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP)

All for-profit Massachusetts-based companies pay into the WTFP and are eligible to apply for either General Program Training Grants or Express Program Grants.

General Program Training Grants: Massachusetts businesses can apply for a grant up to $250,000 for training incumbent workers. While the program funds the majority of training content, courses that a company is legally mandated to provide (such as OSHA training) are not eligible for funding under this program. Training programs must be completed within two years.

Express Program Grants: Businesses may choose from the Express Directory of existing approved training programs and apply for the program at least 21 days before the training is conducted. This is the fastest way for businesses to receive training and reimbursement.

MassHire / Workforce Boards

Along with help finding employees, your local MassHire/Workforce Board can also provide resources for hiring high school interns and find resources and arrange training for employees. MassHire is a great place to start looking for training resources.
